From a dream of guitarist, singer, songwriter and music producer Gabriela Deptulski, creator of the lysergic band My Magical Glowing Lens, was born the music video for the song Space Woods. Through the combination of real, fictional and experimental elements with distinct temporal conceptions, the clip seeks to penetrate into the subjective reality of the contradictory feelings that cross us in the search for the meaning of existence and self-knowledge. A process in which opposing concepts, such as freedom and prison, fear and courage, and past and future, unite and blend into a disturbing harmony. Try the journey to Space Woods.

About the dream that gave birth to music and video, Gabriela says that if “it came off the earth and would stop in outer space, wandering aimlessly and without any stars to attract me. The feeling was that I would hover in the confines of the universe forever, completely alone. ” In reporting the dream to Gustavo Senna (EXP Filmes) and Mirela Morgante (Chaleira Filmes), she was invited to embark on the production of the music video. The three exchanged references, ideas, concepts and yearnings around “Space Woods” to reach the thematic universe from which the script of the video clip would be elaborated.

With the co-production of the Capixabas companies Chaleira Filmes and EXP Filmes, the audiovisual project of Space Woods was approved in an announcement of the Secretary of Culture of Espírito Santo (Secult / ES). Aimed at daring and exploring the poetics of the band beyond the limits of language, a highly skilled, creative and interwoven team was formed, which included acting and choreography classes with Gabi, to acquire more conscious attitudes and bodily gestures. The locations chosen for filming, which include the Peruaçu Caverns National Park (MG) and the Javali (ES) site, also leave the common place. They add up to costumes, makeup and scenery that destabilize conventions and create innovative shapes and images. The result is creative, daring, reflective and, above all, feminist work.
