Songs from the Big Chair is the second studio album by English pop-rock band Tears for Fears, released in February 1985 by Phonogram Records. The album peaked at number two in the UK and at number one in the US and Canada, becoming a multi-platinum seller in all three countries. It also reached number one in Germany and the Netherlands and Top 10 positions in various other countries including Brazil, Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand and Italy. The Perfect Prescription é o segundo álbum de estúdio de Spacemen 3. The Perfect Prescription is the second studio album by Spacemen 3. It is a concept album, “a vision of a drug trip from inception to its blasted conclusion, highs and lows fully intact.” The music becomes progressively more orchestral and serene until the high of the trip, represented by “Ecstasy Symphony” /”Transparent Radiation (Flashback),” moving on to the moment of realization where the high has faded and the comedown ensues, represented by the harsh opening guitar chords in “Things’ll Never Be the Same.” Coming down is represented in the blues based “Come Down Easy,” whilst the potentially fatal effects of an overdose are portrayed in the final track “Call the Doctor.” The music was written by the band except “Transparent Radiation” which is a Red Krayola cover from their 1967 album Parable of Arable Land. The band also borrows heavily from the gospel standard “In My Time of Dying,” for “Come Down Easy” and pay homage to Lou Reed in “Ode to Street Hassle.”

05. Sonic Youth (Daydream Nation, 1988)
Daydream Nation is the fifth studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth, released on October 18, 1988. The band recorded the album between July and August 1988 at Greene St. Recording in New York City, and it was released by Enigma Records as a double album.
After Daydream Nation was released, it received widespread acclaim from critics and earned Sonic Youth a major label deal. The album was ranked high in critics’ year-end lists of 1988’s best records, being voted second in The Village Voice’s annual Pazz & Jop poll. Daydream Nation has since been widely considered to be Sonic Youth’s greatest work, as well as one of the greatest albums of all time, specifically having a profound influence on the alternative and indie rock genres. It was chosen by the Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Recording Registry in 2005.

Heaven or Las Vegas é o sexto álbum de estúdio da banda de rock alternativo escocesa Cocteau Twins, lançado em 17 de Setembro de 1990 pela 4AD. Apesar de o presidente da 4AD, Ivo Watts-Russell, ter declarado que foi um dos melhores lançamentos de sua gravadora, ele dispensou o contrato do grupo no final de 1990 porque seu relacionamento com a banda havia azedado.

Despite 4AD president Ivo Watts-Russell proclaiming it one of the best-ever releases on his label, he released the group from their contract at the end of 1990 because his relationship with the band had soured.

It eventually sold 235,000 copies by 1996, according to Billboard. Loveless is the second studio album by the Irish-English rock band My Bloody Valentine. The album was recorded between February 1989 and September 1991, with vocalist and guitarist Kevin Shields leading sessions and experimenting with guitar vibrato, nonstandard tunings, digital samplers, and meticulous production methods. The band hired nineteen different studios and several engineers during the album’s prolonged recording, with its final production cost rumoured to have reached £250,000 (equivalent to £480,000 in 2021).
Preceded by the EPs Glider (1990) and Tremolo (1991), Loveless reached number 24 on the UK Albums Chart, and was widely praised by critics for its sonic innovations and Shields’ “virtual reinvention of the guitar”.
